It has been established that neighborhoods, as a social construct, promote a sense of community, belonging, and place. In terms of physical aspects of the neighborhood, a sense of place can be maintained through continuity, gentle density, pedestrian propinquity, and public transit. Residents may feel a sense of community when necessary services are within feasible walking distance.

By creating shared symbolic spaces, individuals across cultural divides are united, encouraging open dialogue and fostering relationships that bridge cultural gaps. These interactions contribute to a wider understanding and appreciation among different communities. Ultimately, this culture of engagement nurtures an environment where cultural integration flourishes, promoting not just the coexistence of various groups but their active collaboration and enrichment.
